About

Our Story

The two words ‘Huen Hug’ are both taken from the northern Thai (Lanna) language, and we feel these particular words represent the style of our guest house. ‘Huen’ means ‘home’, and ‘Hug’ is translated as love in northern Thai. We chose this name as we hope to portray a homely feel within our guesthouse so guests can enjoy a warm, family like atmosphere and feel comfortable here with us at Huen Hug. When you stay at Huen Hug guest house, you are welcomed into part of the family.

Enjoy a warm and comfortable stay at Huen Hug guest house in Chiang Mai. We are a family run guest house who take pride in providing a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for each and every one of our guests. Our private rooms are built with our guests comfort in mind, with air conditioning and a neat design. We have a shared ‘coffee corner’ area where everyone can enjoy some of our snacks and relax if they wish. Stay with Huen Hug and feel at home in our cosy guest house in Chiang Mai’s ‘Old City’ neighbourhood.
Huen Hug is tucked down a small quiet street, just 2 minutes walk away from the buzzing Chiang Mai Gate which is filled with markets containing a mix of desserts and traditional northern Thai food. Our guests can enjoy many local tourist attractions starting with the Chiang Mai Gate Market which is 200 metres away, and followed by Wat Chedi Luang Temple just 750 metres away. The centre of the ‘Old City’ neighbourhood can be located just 1km away from Huen Hug Chiang Mai. Tourists looking for the perfect ‘Northern Thai’ souvenir will find this within the Sunday Walking street market, which is just 12 minutes walk away from our perfectly located guest house.
